How to determine the type of bird

Suppose you took a picture of some kind of bird and are unable to determine on your own what kind of bird it is. To do this, there is an excellent iNaturalist service. Before you post a photo that you doubt in Birdbook, follow these steps:1. Register on the iNaturalist.org2 website. Take a photo with a bird. I'll have the next one
Who did I take off?
2. After registration, find the "Upload" field and click on it. A window will appear where we drag our photo
3. After uploading the image, this icon will appear. Be sure to put a point where we shot this bird. If the bird is rare and red-listed, you can slightly shift the point.
4. INat algorithms are sharpened so that it analyzes all meetings made in a certain radius around your point and compares them with your picture. And then, after clicking on the 3rd field, it will give out certain options - what does it look like.
5. As you can see, he gave me 2 options - black-throated and red-throated loons. Moreover, he put the red-throated one in the first place, which is the correct answer. But even if you don't understand what kind of bird it is after that. Don't be afraid to click on any of the suggested ones and wait
6. Your observation will turn yellow - this is an unconfirmed observation. Then (usually it's pretty fast) a huge number of specialists will check your photo (they get their buns for it) and either confirm or refute the name you suggested. As a result, after a couple of confirmations, your observation will change its status to "Research" - this means that we are facing exactly that kind and no other. And after that, you can safely upload the picture to Bird book
