Про чудесный пруд в центре Москвы

In September, I learned about the most interesting place almost in the very center of Moscow - a pond that calls itself the Mosfilm Pond. Based on the findings of my colleagues and their advice and tips, I managed to find out that you can see all sorts of waterfowl there, of course, most of them being rather neglected, but who could stop me from going to catch sight of such wonderful, albeit not wild, birds? We encountered beautiful mute swans, and at first, I even thought, as I was orienting myself by sound, that they were coots - they sound very similar! However, even from afar, and even in the thickets, it is hard not to notice such a wonderful bird. Amid the currents, five different species of ducks often swim by - the Carolina duck (male and female), the gadwall, the shovelers (a vagrant, female), and our usual neighbors - the mallards and the teals. However, on one floating island, we spotted a strange, bright, and patterned duck, which later turned out to be a male red-headed diving duck. The trip was amazing, and being in close contact with the birds always evokes indescribable emotions!

Ilya has evidently already flown away. I think there will still be arrivals this winter - this year she visited Tsaritsyno and stayed there for quite a long time. I believe everything is yet to come!
