
Каравайка, also known as the marsh sandpiper, is a bird that has a dark brown plumage with bronze and green metallic sheen in adults, while young birds are brown without sheen, featuring white markings on the head and neck that fade with age. The habitat of the marsh sandpiper is wide, found in Eurasia, Africa, Australia, and North America. In Russia, it is observed in the southern regions, particularly in the deltas of the rivers Kuban, Don, Terek, and Volga. The marsh sandpiper winters in Africa and southern Asia, with some individuals occasionally remaining to winter in the Kuban delta.
